Melbourne Day 2

Just a quick entry before I continue with my assignment... THE assignment that is taking forever to do.

Melbourne Day 2 started off well enough. The car is safely back in the hands of the renting company and weather's... drizzling... well, it could have been worse,  but soft rain felt nice until it got too cold.

After grabbing some cash from a HSBC atm (gosh, those are rare in Melbourne... why were there so many citibanks and anz atm, but so few westpac and hsbc??) we headed to a nearby cafe for breakfast. No idea if it's good or not, we just went in because it was open.

Stalactites... ohhh... that explains the interior design...

Definition from dictionary.com: Stalactite- a deposit, usually of calcium carbonate, shaped like an icicle, hanging from the roof of a cave or the like, and formed by the dripping of percolating calcareous water.

なるほど...

This was E and P's Greek breakfast. I'm not entirely sure what that is anymore, but it looks like scrambled eggs of some sort, on store-made bread.

I was after something a little more filling, so this was their sausage souvlaki- grilled spicy sausage and fried egg wrapped in warm pita bread with tomato, feta cheese and barbecue sauce.

Definitely needed something hot after being in the drizzling rain and cold.

Random thing along the streets of Melbourne.

Say what?

- I don't know you!
- Well, I don't know you either.

Horse carriage again!

No lunch photos because we were at the music therapy conference and had lunch there. And morning tea, and afternoon tea. All included with the conference, along with unlimited tea (earl grey!) and coffee. We decided to head into a Shanghainese restaurant for dinner that night, wanting a proper dinner after the previous night's takeaway.

Drunken... preserved duck? I'm actually not sure what this is, in Cantonese it sounds something like larp ngarp. Or larp arp. Cantonese was never my strong language.

Aw look how innocent and white the top dumplings look.

Sour and spicy soup.

Go healthy!

Fried shallot bread!

This place was crowded, so we thought it'd be good. Didn't disappoint! Or maybe it was because we were hungry.

Those fluffy innocently white dumplings turned evil at the bottom of the bowl, soaking up spicy hot chili oil. It got to the point of being so spicy, we cut it open, took out the meat, ate that, and discarded the tainted carcass.

Melbourne by night. Looking quite archaic with that horse carriage on the road.

A church that we passed by.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Equivalent of Sydney's Darling Harbor.

Strange square headed metallic angel.

Thus concludes day 2!
